You must be a member to join the Adult Program Lessons or Clinics. Membership starts at $40.00 for an individual. See our Membership web page for more information & pricing on membership. Our Adult Learn to Sail program follows the Canadian Yachting Association, CYA curriculum.

Adult Programs

CAN Sail I Course

Learn the basics of sailing with experienced instructors; The course will cover terminology, points of sail, knots, rigging, sail trim, tacking, gybing & boating safety including righting a capsized boat.

Monday nights course or weekend course, minimum 15 hours of instruction. 

Sail Canada CAN Sail I certification is possible upon successful demonstration of skills. The CanSail level is a nationwide standardized certification system.  

CAN Sail II

Building on the skills learned in CAN Sail I, at the end of the course the student will be able skipper his own boat with confidence.
CAN Sail II will cover the following.

  • Mark roundings
  • Advanced sail trim
  • Boat Balance and Body positioning
  • Stoping and accelerate
  • Righting a turtled boat.
  • Buidling confidence and independance. 

CanSaill II certification is possible upon successful demonstration of skills.

Race Clinics

The race clinics will cover the following:

  • Race Starts
  • Tactics
  • Boat handling skills
  • Mark Roundings
  • Video Analysis

TIME: Each day from 12-4pm

Private Lessons

Private lessons tailored to you are available by request at $75.00 per person per hour. You must be a member in order to participate in any lesson program, including our private lessons.  Memberships start at $40.00 / year for an adult individual.   Please see our Membership page for more information on joining the WSA.

What to Bring

Students should bring the following items to the course every day:

1. Water and snack.  There is not food 
2. Hat, Sunglasses
3. Sunscreen
4. Towel
5. Change of Clothes
6. Old sneakers or water shoes.  Shoes must have a closed toe and heel.   Flip flops are not allowed!
7. Bathing suit.
8. Wind Breaker or waterproof jacket 
9.  Clothes appropriate for the weather of the day
